Served in a dual capacity as General Counsel for Citi’s LATAM Cluster leading around 260+ legal staff, as well as General Counsel for Legacy Franchises (Consumer and Retail Bank) in Mexico, US, Asia and Europe.

Served in a dual capacity following an internal reorganization as GC for Citi’s newly formed Asia South Cluster and as the General Counsel for Legacy Franchises (Consumer and Retail Bank) in Asia and Europe.o As Cluster General Counsel, led around 60 legal staff covering more than nine jurisdictions including India, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Philippines, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.o As Legacy Franchises Co-General Counsel, led the multi-billion-dollar divestures and wind-downs for 13 jurisdictions in both Asia Pacific and EMEA

As APAC General Counsel led approximately 300+ legal staff covering 17+ jurisdictions in APAC, including complex geopolitically markets (China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and India) and two regional hubs (Singapore and HK). o Acted as the most senior legal approver for escalations of issues arising under our multi-million-dollar cross-border transactions across business segments. Issues include sensitive circumstances or off-market terms in investment banking transactions for global multinational corporations that create negative precedents or potential reputational, legal, regulatory, or geopolitical risk.o Led regulatory sensitive matters including interactions with US and local banking and securities regulators involving instances of employee misconduct, internal/external fraud, money-laundering, conflicts of laws derived from international sanctions, data privacy breaches, and cyber-attacks.o Successfully handled several potential banking crises and cyber-attacks as part of the Regional Crisis Management Team including the recent bank failures as well as constant DDoS, malware, and other attempts to impact and infiltrate IT infrastructure.o Established a regional company secretary function to improve consistency and best practices across all our legal entities in 10 different jurisdictions holding highly-regulated banking or securities licenses.As Legacy Franchises Co-General Counsel, led the multi-billion-dollar divestitures and wind-downs in 13 jurisdictions in both APAC and EMEA (including Russia, Poland, and Bahrain).o Led all legal aspects of multiple and concurrent Mergers and Acquisitions.o Led contract negotiation, driving regulatory and board approvals, managing dispute resolution, and acted as final legal approver for all matters with franchise, legal, reputational and regulatory risk.o Successfully closed nine sales of businesses and advised on the wind-downs of our operations in Russia, China, and Korea.

As Southeast Asia General Counsel, led a team of nearly 40 legal staff covering eight jurisdictions in Southeast Asia.o Led the approval of local and cross-border multi-million-dollar transactions for institutional clients group, including IPOs, Capital Markets, and M&A, particularly those with complex or sensitive aspects creating material risks.o Led the legal review of the development of new products and services and expansions into new markets for both our corporate and retail/consumer business segments including blockchain guarantees and scriptless pledges in Thailand and coffee and cocoa commodity trading in Vietnam.o Managed the company secretary function for entities and acted as legal advisor to local boards of directors.o Oversaw a multi-million-dollar portfolio of litigation and internal investigations. As APAC Employment General Counsel, I was the only lawyer covering all sensitive and material employment matters in one of Citi’s most complex regions with around 75,000 employees in 17+ jurisdictions with 11 active unions at the time. o Oversaw all employment legal aspects of the Consumer Business divestitures and wind-downs in two regions (APAC and EMEA), including designing severance packages and other employee retention tools, contract negotiation with bidders, dispute resolution with unions, regulatory and board approvals.o Acted as agent of change and carrier of culture in the region as representative of the home office’s mandates under a US regulators’ Consent Orders. Led transformation initiatives by providing leadership, credible challenge, and championing change management in HR and employment relations.o Led dozens of internal investigations, ethics matters and regulatory inquiries, including escalations to US and local regulators, Citi’s Board, and Global Executive Management Team.o Oversaw all employment litigation and reported to the Global Board and US regulators on significant events.

Acted as senior regional counsel providing legal support and strategic advice to senior management in connection with Citi’s operations in LATAM. Led a team of four lawyers in different jurisdictions.• Acted as lead attorney in the creation of the Mexico and LATAM Business Practices Committees (charged with reviewing reputational risk) as well as numerous policies and standards, including the LATAM Anti-Bribery & Corruption Standards.• Led numerous multi-million-dollar transactions in the region including cross-border Corporate and Investment Banking transactions, Trade Finance and M&A advisory.• Created a full suite of NY Law transactional templates (NDAs, credit agreements, guarantees, promissory notes, board approvals, legal opinions) to assist our cross-border transactions which resulted in substantial savings for the bank and our clients while creating more consistency in our operations.• Led a series of Franchise Reviews derived from a US sensitive regulatory requirement that required an end-to-end control review of all operations including Asset Management (Funds), Broker-Dealer and Brokerage House, Private Bank and Wealth Management, Trust Services, Procurement, Non-For-Profit Organizations and Sponsorships.• Member of the Investors and Issuers Fiduciary Committees (part of securities and funds services).
