I have been working for over 15 years on IT in different roles and for different customers/industries such as gaming, healthcare, financial & insurance, communications, engineering, and banking. For these companies, I provided services and led different technologies including, maps design and creation for games, storage, backup&recovery (TSM, BackupExcec, HPDP, TimeNavigator, Legato, CommVault), Intel, VMWare, Citrix, SQL, Oracle, Middleware, and Nasuni. I started as an IT enthusiast which led me to work on gaming design and then to do applications support. Once I joined IBM I began working as a Storage administrator and then moved into a Backup&Recovery position working with many tools and platforms. My next move was into managing the team's work as dispatcher and then team leader to finally became manager for USA and Canada accounts. Being bilingual is a must for this role. The next jump in my career was to lead all of the accounts IBM provided Storage services to from Argentina. Once I was promoted to SIL I started reporting to executives and transformed myself into the client's single point of contact, with the big challenge of again having to lead different geographies worldwide. During my time at IBM, I traveled for over a month to Costa Rica to help implement Agile methodologies on the delivery center located there.On my wide experience as a people manager, I learned that the team's effort must be recognized, the feedback must be two ways and constant, and that no team works like an engaged team.No matter the situation I must deal with or what position I am in, I am convinced that you can always do it while having fun and that is what will get you the loyalty of the team and the best relationship with clients.
