Juan Sebastián Arango is a Colombian social entrepreneur with fifteen years of experience across public, private, and social sectors. With a background in law and a master’s degree in Economic Law, he has specialized in building consensus, fostering critical conversations, and promoting social dialogue across various sectors in Latin America. He has served in different roles, including Presidential Counselor to the President of Colombia, Director of Public and Corporate Affairs at the National Federation of Merchants of Colombia (FENALCO), and Chief of Staff to the Minister of National Defense. Currently, he is dedicated to social innovation and sustainable development, focusing on empowering leaders and enhancing civic engagement. As a social entrepreneur with Isopolis, he specializes in creating social assets for the private sector. He works in multiple initiatives aimed at uniting young people and governments to drive social change and is a consultant fostering synergies between the public and private sectors. Additionally, he is the Director of “Dreamers and Makers,” the social leadership accelerator of Fundación Innovación para el Desarrollo I+D, which mentors social innovators in Colombia. He authored the book “Conversations in the Social Outburst”, documenting the dialogue process during Colombia's national strike in April 2021, the longest and most violent of this decade, offering tools to understand social environments and turn changes into opportunities. His interests include addressing polarization, enhancing social impact, the role of the private sector in social contexts, and modern leadership.
