I have been a Skyline employee for more than 21 years, starting my career at our corporate office in Eagan, Minnesota. I currently manage two departments – Traffic and Estimation. Traffic and Estimation are new departments to Skyline and both have proven to be extremely successful. I strive for perfection every day, the end goal is client satisfaction, however I believe that providing my employees with all of the support they need, and keeping them happy and motivated is equally as important. The goal of the Traffic Department is to level the workload amongst our Project Managers with capacity planning, and distribute the incoming projects to the right Project Manager for each project. Each project is reviewed and analyzed based on complexity as well as revenue, and then assigned according to skill levels amongst the Project Managers. The Estimation Team consists of Product Estimators and Service Estimators, as most projects demand a great amount of attention on both the product and service sides of the business, this is where we provide our expertise. The goal of the Estimation Team is efficiency and accuracy, we estimate designs at a very high speed with great accuracy, as this Team is made up of the best at what they do. Skyline’s win rate increases dramatically by getting estimates to market as fast as possible, with a very quick turnaround time. What I love about being a manager is the tremendous amount of responsibility that is placed on my shoulders, it is a very satisfying feeling to be put in a position to provide, teach, and inspire employees. I have learned how important it is to always be there for your employees, to provide encouragement, to back them up, and manage challenges together. Adapting to change and providing a positive outlook can be challenging at times but it is extremely gratifying to be there for them and bring everyone together as a Team. The solid core I have built around me has provided me the support that I need as well, I would not be here without them. We learn from each other daily, and provide each other the best support that anyone can ask for. My Estimation Team, along with Traffic Management has turned into a family for me.The tradeshow industry is a very chaotic business, without proper support, it’s going to be a very rough experience. I believe that hard work pays off, and that if something is done, it should be done right or not at all. I will always strive for improvement and will continue to improve myself daily, in my professional career, and in my personal life.
