I was in charge of managing a team of 25 pharmacy staff members, such as registered pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, contract workers, volunteers, and pharmacy students/interns. My responsibilities included ensuring that the pharmacy followed all applicable laws and regulations, assigning tasks based on job roles, and making sure that work was completed on time. I also kept detailed records of all pharmacy transactions, as required by state and federal laws. In addition, I made sure that the pharmacy met all state and federal requirements for inspections and other regulations. I reported daily figures to national coordinators and communicated the latest CDC guidelines to patients who had been tested for COVID. I instructed an average of 120 patients each day on how to perform self-swabbing and then observed their technique to ensure proper sampling. When necessary, I performed nasal swabs while wearing full PPE gear. Finally, I tested nasal swab specimens with the Abbott ID NowTM rapid test, following strict biosafety level 2 (BSL-2) guidelines.
