My role was instrumental in shaping our digital landscape and enabling us to stay at the forefront of innovation in the industry that includes introducing new smart marketing technology to enable website personalisation, lead generation, customer experience and to provide valuable customer data and insight.

In 2020, amidst the challenges of the pandemic, I spearheaded the creation of an online marketplace for innovative solutions within the built environment sector, aimed at facilitating our customers' transition to net-zero. This initiative achieved significant recognition, including two Gold Awards at the Wates Chairman Awards and a Gold Award for Best Campaign at the Energy Saving Awards.I also collaborated closely with Lloyds Banking Group on a successful campaign to implement sustainable solutions for their real estate portfolios. Additionally, I conducted a comprehensive health check of our digital systems, identifying areas for improvement. This led to the introduction of cutting-edge email marketing and media monitoring software, which enhanced our communication strategies. Moreover, additional widgets on our website resulted in a remarkable 150% increase in pageviews and engagement. Recognising the importance of efficiency, I introduced digital processes powered by marketing automation, which streamlined operations and significantly improved productivity. These efforts ensured that our digital initiatives remained at the forefront of industry innovation.

Interserve had a workforce of circa 80,000 people worldwide. I helped launch of Office 365 and digital workplace strategy to our online employees as well as being the visionary and project manager of an employee hub aimed at our 50k frontline employees. Linked to their payroll and benefits, it became a successful platform to engage with the employees who have no email address or mobile device.Other highlights during this time was introducing an innovation/transformation initiative to inspire and connect our employees with our vision and values and refreshing our brand to become more visually impactful in a digital world.

After working in New Zealand for 7 years, I made a decision to come home to the UK to work for Interserve. In the first year I launched a new website that won two gold awards at the Digital Impact Awards. Interserve was FTSE listed and I enjoyed the challenge of integrating financial reporting on our new website for our investors.I was the campaign manager lead for all our group campaigns using social media and digital marketing to engage with our key audiences. I also introduced new email marketing software and transformed their Intranet to be a more visually and engaging site for our employees.

During my time at Beca, I project managed and launched their new website bringing together the services we offer to the sectors we support from across the Asia Pacific. I developed two further websites for our sister companies using in house developers and designers and introduced website reporting that aligned with business performance KPIs.Other activities included designing a new digital asset management system to share knowledge across each country to support bids and marketing and introduced customer email markerting.

I had a great opportunity to develop my PR and marketing skills for one of the largest employee-owned engineering and related consultancy services groups in the Asia Pacific region employing over 2,500 people across six countries.I began my journey with Beca as a PR coordinator, scheduling production activities for the brand/design team and coordinated the weekly PR activity schedule for all communication business partners.A key highlight was setting up new notification system using SharePoint to better manage communication requests from across the business and designing a knowledge hub for the bid and proposal teams. I also redesigned the homepage of their Intranet to introduce images and videos to internal weekly news using HTML.

When I was 26, I had just completed my post graduate diploma in PR and Communications in Auckland. I was offered the opportunity by the University to join their conference team where I put my new skills into practice. During my time there I helped organise huge international events that were often over five days long and had been over 1,000 delegates. Work included organising advertising, printers, day and night events and designing the conference hand book.One event was organising a geothermal conference with scientists across the world coming to New Zealand. It was an exciting event and I was proud to be involved.

With strong administration skills, I easily found a 3-month contract with Transpower as an executive assistant to a national grid power director. Another great opportunity to experience a different industry where I used my SAP and project management skills.Looking to the future, I wanted to be a manager of my own team and be an inspiring leader. This made me pack up my bags once again to go back University in Auckland to study a post graduate diploma in PR and Communications for one year.

After travelling up and down New Zealand for 6 months to visit its breath-taking scenery, I decided to take on a few contract assignments in its windy capital. One of the fantastic opportunities was working for what used to be called SPARC, a government organisation responsible for sport and recreation. During a 3-month contract, I visited 'the Beehive' and met the 'All Blacks' NZ rugby team.

I decided to take the plunge into full time work for the first time in New Zealand in 2005 and worked for a credit insurance company in Auckland supporting the Business Development team with writing new proposals, training new recruits and event/conference planning.I had the amazing opportunity to visit their head office in Sydney to learn their very complicated systems - something in which I excelled in and enjoyed. I had never been to Australia before so it was an exciting adventure.It became obvious to me that if I was going to continue working in New Zealand, I needed to understand the country better. I made the decision to pack up my car and go travelling across the country for 6 months.

As soon as I arrived in New Zealand, I took on temporary work assignments across the Auckland city for a variety of companies such as Telecom and Bupa. A great way to learn about the city and experience a variety of industries. I identified I was a natural at using excel and system and applications such as SAP for invoicing and processing and I enjoyed event and conference management.

I took many temporary work assignments using Blue Arrow during school holidays and later whilst at University. I was eager to learn as much admin skills as possible such as data entry, mystery shopping, archiving and minute taking. My time at Bullington Prison in Oxford was by far the most exciting, providing administration support for the Sex Offender Therapy Programme (SOTP) during the summer holidays. I received a Temp of the Month certificate for this work.After I graduated, I had the opportunity to work with the Blue Arrow team directly full time as an office administrator for a few months before I travelled to New Zealand.

When I finished my A Levels, I took a year off from study to work in London as I didn't know what I wanted out of a career. All I knew is that I wanted to be like Melanie Griffiths and Sigourney Weaver in the 1988 film 'Working Girl'It was an exciting year. Catching the train every morning with my dad to Oxford circus station and walking to Bedford Square. I had an amazing mentor who was a whizz at office programmes who enabled me to receive the best grounding in office and administration skills.This was my first experience of the Built Environment industry.
