After initially joining Time Inc. as Creative Manager, I received three promotions, most recently becoming International Design/Creative Services Director for both TIME and Fortune across British Isles, EMEA, Asia and SoPac regions. During that time, I led the restructure and integration of two creative teams and introduced work efficiencies through digital asset management and profitable workflow management systems. My department acted as a fully-integrated in-house creative agency with both internal and external clients. Print and digital output ranged from advertising and branding to sales and marketing communications, complemented by the design and project management of exhibitions, conferences and events.During my 10 years at Time Inc, I devised over 90% of the client communications proposals that generated unbudgeted revenue—during 2006 this totalled circa £4 million—and project-managed their implementation. My role included briefing advertising and media agencies, and commissioning external suppliers including creative consultancies, event production companies, writers, photographers and illustrators. I had full management and budget responsibility for the in-house creative department, consistently achieving maximum bonuses for personal performance.My responsibilities incorporated acting as international brand guardian for TIME and Fortune. I originated and evolved corporate and visual identity guidelines, developed design templates, and advised internal stakeholders and external partners as to their implementation. My brand commitments extended to the development of several of TIME and Fortune’s international brand campaigns. These have featured in a range of media, including TV, print, online and outdoor.

I was responsible for the graphic design, print buying and production of the Society's brand and marketing communications-specifically for promoting the strengths of regional press to national advertisers and agencies. The materials ranged from industry and research reports (including the winner of Media Week's Research Project of the Year in '99), direct mail executions, conference programmes and the associated packaging, and branded promotional merchandise. I also designed and implemented the rebranding of the organisation's stationery to complement its first national advertising campaign. As part of this role, I also had overall responsibility for image purchase, compilation of print specifications, negotiation of rates with external suppliers, proof reading, dummy make-up and print sign-off.

Pile Probert Kelly was a top 30 brand and communications agency, providing brand development and through-the-line design solutions and communications programmes to a blue chip client base. Private clients included singer George Michael and celebrity chef Ross Burden. As production assistant I was responsible for the production of printed matter and trade exhibition stands for the consultancy's full client list. This included writing print specifications, marking-up of proofs for typesetting house, signing-off print on press as well as shortlisting of photographers and models, organising photo shoots, prop purchase, stills selection, creation of promotional videos and the management of associated budgets.

Based within the London headquarters of this U.S. publishing firm I was responsible for researching concepts for book jacket design, sourcing and ordering stock images, make-up of cover artwork, and the administration of studio resources.
