The focus of my PhD has been the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor family of Drosophila melanogaster. I have been working to elucidate roles for these genes in development, reproduction and insecticide toxicity through the use of RNAi, genomic deletions and homology modeling. Further to this, I have been mapping novel insecticide resistance genes in a field evolved strain.
