For ten years I have been working as a volunteer in various compassion ministries. Now I work full-time for Convoy of Hope, specifically in U.S. Disaster Response. Our main goal is to equip the local church to be the face of compassion and hope in the days immediately following a disaster. We also exist to educate the church on how to prepare in advance for disasters their community may someday face, so that the church is best positioned to be of immediate help and comfort.It is my personal mission to see every person fulfill their call to be a compassionate person. Compassion work is not just for the pastor or the missionary. We are all called to offer water to the thirsty, food to the hungry, and presence to the lonely.I also do some freelance writing. Publications I have written for include OnCourse Magazine and Revolve 2009, and Today's Pentecostal Evangel among others.In my free time, I serve my local church and community through Adopt-A-Block as coordinator organizing our outreach efforts in the community. This is done through door-to-door visits and acts of services such as light landscaping and construction, cleaning, brush and trash removal and painting.
