In the Spring of 2014, I made some changes to my life that have dramatically changed, improved my health. Frankly, I had my doubts it would be possible. After all, I'm not a kid anymore. But changes I made, and I've been thrilled with the results! I've learned a great deal...particularly in terms of how the food industry and health care industry (in general, and, yes, I know there are exceptions) are systematically failing us. A century ago, people were getting sick and dying from infectious disease, bacterial infections, etc. Today, that's not the case. Today, what plagues and often kills us are things like heart disease, diabetes, arthritis, cancer, and dozens of other debilitating, chronic diseases, diseases that were virtually non-existent just a few generations ago. And the fact of the matter is we cause much of our own disease by what we choose to put in our mouths but most of us don't know that! My own introduction to this journey came in the form of a ground breaking documentary called FORKS OVER KNIVES. I HIGHLY recommend viewing...it's free on Netflix or just a couple of dollars on YouTube.Learning how to eat healthy, focusing on a whole food plant based diet, has changed my life for the better. It's still a journey for me, but knowing what I know now and how it's improved my health and my life, I've become passionate about helping other people who want to make positive changes in their lives, too, but perhaps just need a little guidance. I've learned many of the stumbling blocks and tools to help overcome them. This was a labor of love. It' was my son's business until he passed away in 2012...building and repairing cellular transmission sites (towers, on buildings, on water towers, etc....he always was a climber!!!). I helped with payroll, bookkeeping, and was responsible for payables, receivables, HR and computer tasks. I loved that it let me be involved with something I know was near and dear to my son's heart! The company was purchased in mid 2015, and the new owners phased out my position. The chose of another chapter...looking forward to seeing what's in store now....
