I have been ssigned to a local real estate company where I help the sales staff by running daily MLS reports and sorting and printing for them and their clients. This report took the previous person 6 hours per day. I've got it down to 30 minutes using vlookups and concatenate calculations and macros. I post updates via their Facebook account and send out Constant Contacts and help with anything a sales agent needs.A previous assignment was while an employee was on FMLA for a local manufacturing company. I assisted in entering inventory into an Excel spreadsheet, then writing a quick formula to remove true duplicates. Because Excel can remove duplicates only in a field, this company needed to remove duplicates if all fields, not just one field, were identical. I concatenated the data to find the true duplicates and remove. Then the company was able to upload the data to their manufacturing and accounting database (Great Plains). I also helped enter accounts payable information into Great Plains and did general filing.Another assignment was for the staffing agency itself. They had a project to provide data to a company that was helping them with the new ACA requirements. They pulled data from their system, but could not get it in the format the company wanted. They pulled 5 different reports and exported them to Excel and then wanted me to retype the data into the format the tracking agency wanted. Since each report had the same key indicator (name, SSN), I ran pivot tables for each year showing just the data the tracking company wanted, then did vlookups to pull in address information and other pieces that the tracking company needed. What was originally supposed to take weeks to retype took hours.
