I served as both the CEO and the CFO, as we grew our firm, adapted to changing technologies, and weathered the 2008 recession.Like most service businesses, wages were by far our most significant expense. Couple that with the fact that most of our customers were large organizations who dictated their payment terms (sometimes as long as 75 days!), cash flow was something I monitored very closely!
