The Independent Oversight Mechanism (IOM) is responsible for conducting evaluations, inspections and internal investigations.As the Acting Head of the IOM, I have taken on the additional responsibilities of managing staff and the IOM budget, as well as reporting responsibilities to the governing bodies of the ICC. I have also managed issues concerning (administrative) internal investigations at the preliminary stage, in consultation with the IOM Associate Investigator.About the ICC:The ICC investigates and, where warranted, tries individuals charged with the gravest crimes of concern to the international community: genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity. Through international criminal justice, the Court aims to hold those responsible accountable for their crimes and to help prevent these crimes from happening again. ​​The ICC is governed by an international treaty called the Rome Statute, and it is the world’s first permanent international criminal court.

At the International Criminal Court (ICC), and specifically the Independent Oversight Mechanism, I am responsible for planning, conducting, managing and reporting on independent evaluations and supporting internal ones. Most of the evaluation I have conducted at the ICC focus on organisational effectiveness. Examples include: the evaluation of the engagement of the victims with the ICC, the evaluation of the workplace culture in the Judiciary and the evaluation of the administration of the Trust Fund for Victims secretariat.
