A trial lawyer for 29 years, Judith A. Baxter has helped hundreds of people in Grand Rapids, Holland, Grand Haven, Muskegon and throughout West Michigan, as an assistant prosecuting attorney and now in a practice that emphasizes litigation, criminal law, drunk driving, drug charges, family law, children and juvenile issues, and driver's license issues. Ms. Baxter is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, and is a member of the State Bar''s Criminal, Family, and Litigation Practice sections. She has served on the State Bar's Character and Fitness Committee and the Criminal Jury Instruction Committee and is a Life Fellow of the Michigan State Bar Foundation. Ms. Baxter has been a member of the Michigan Association for Justice. Ms Baxter has served on the Grand Rapids Bar Association's Diversity Committee, the Gender Bias Committee, the Practice and Procedure Committee, and the Caseflow Management Committee. For over 20 years, Ms Baxter tried felony and misdemeanor cases as an assistant Kent County prosecuting attorney.. Ms. Baxter participated in training western Michigan law enforcement agencies in various subjects including drug asset seizures and forfeitures. Ms. Baxter is a contributing editor with the University of Michigan Institute of Continuing Legal Education, and has guest lectured on juvenile delinquency and neglect issues at the Grand Valley State University School of Social Work, and on trial issues at Ferris State University's School of Criminal Justice in Grand Rapids.
