Experienced musician, educator, composer.Mus B (hons) focused in Music Theory and Composition from University of Canterbury. LAIRMT in flute, clarinet and sax. As a Leading Associate of Registered Music Teachers (NZ), has taught privately, and plays flute, clarinet, sax, tuba, trombone, piano, ukulele and guitar. Presenter of music workshops around NZ, Australia, Lithuania, USA, Switzerland, and at ISME conference in Greece, Italy and Scotland. Published many articles and papers on music education. Active member of charitable organisations such as Music Education Canterbury (co-chair), MENZA life member, The CHCH Jazz Foundation Trust (Chair). Artistic director for the ChCh Big Band Festival, co-director for Strum Strike and Blow and founder of Junior Jazz Jam. Actively arranging, transcribing and composing. Investigating links between computational thinking and music learning. Enjoys youth jazz education, arranging and composition. Perform regularly in the All Girl Big Band and Sideline Swing and directs jazz bands at Chisnallwood and Shirley Boys.
