The overall responsibility of the Livelihoods Skills Development and Climate Change Program Officer is the coordination and implementation of skills and employment aspects of the graduation strategy for beneficiary refugees and host communities who are women and youths Programs in BRAC Uganda.Ensure assessment of local demands for skills and services in different economic sectors (including non-farm and off-farm) as well as aspirations of the participant poor women.• Assessing local demands for skills and services (in different economic sectors including non-farm and off-farm) as well as aspirations of the participant poor. • Identifying opportunities and key stakeholders for initiating vocational education and skills training and micro-enterprise development. • Developing partnerships with- TVET institutions, SMEs, micro-finance institutions, business development organizations, business associations, etc.• Designing interventions for skills development; micro-business development, institutionalizing the informal apprenticeship model of ILO using Competency Skills Logbooks (CSLB), and setting up the employment support system.Ensure effective delivery of skills training and self-employment interventions.• Identify vocational education skills training and apprenticeship-related interventions and ensure their implementation.• Develop mechanisms for the placements of the trained persons and create support structures to enable identified poor women to set up micro-enterprise and market linkages. Identify opportunities for vocational education and skills training, wage employment opportunities, and micro-enterprise development.• Identify the key players such as with- TVET institutions, SMEs, micro-finance institutions, business development organizations, business associations, etc. Develop partnerships with- TVET institutions, SMEs, micro-finance institutions, business development organizations, business associations etc.

Overall Key Achievements; It allowed me to contribute towards Caritas International Thailand FSL strategic objective that ‘Most vulnerable children and youths and their families have improved access to food and sustainable livelihoods.Program Support:• Prepare timely and accurate project reports for trusts, foundations, and other donors, including an annual report that covers projects in the Securing Sustainable Livelihoods and Accessing an Education Programmes.• Support program implementation to ensure appropriate and timely delivery of program activities (for example, preparing training materials, and capacity-building support).• Work closely with the Thai Karen staff to manage successfully project activities and ensure projects are in line with project agreements.Capacity Building:• Support the delivery of cash-based programming including training and remote coaching on practical elements (where required).• Ensure that gender equality and inclusion, safe programming, and conflict sensitivity are embedded into needs and response analysis, and programming.• Provided technical support in the development of livelihood project concept notes, logical framework, proposals and identify appropriate innovative approachesRepresentation & Organisational Learning:• Build and maintain positive relationships with relevant stakeholders, including I/NGOs, etc. • Take steps to document lessons learned for wider dissemination.• Developed and implemented a work plan for livelihood support and other technical support requirements of the various FSL projects in close coordination with the FSL Technical team, and other relevant staff.

The Center for International Migration and Integration (CIMI), Key Responsibilities and Achievements: • I was able to provide overall technical assistance to a team of 20 volunteers to achieve economic empowerment. Supervised and followed up on all 50 participants (Empowerment and Livelihoods) related activities improving service delivery quality and building volunteer and participants capacity building. Developed training materials to support training and enhance the skills and awareness of the women. Facilitated different staff and volunteer and participant level training and coaching as a key technical person. • Submitted daily, weekly, and monthly comprehensive work plans and reports on issues arising during implementation. • Represent the Centre for International Migration and Integration (CIMI) at Municipality meetings and at asylum seekers conferences. • Facilitated capacity-building and strengthening training for 4 CIMI field Volunteers, 20 project participants, and other actors from the municipality to enhance the diversity and inclusion of asylum seekers in South Tel Aviv.

Programme Support:• Ensure that field FSL teams are engaged in a ‘culture of learning’ with opportunities to connect, and share experiences and lessons, while also coming together to bring improvements to the overall standard of FSL programming. • Provided food and nutrition security and livelihood technical assistance in Kiryandongo and Rhino and Imvepi refugee settlements securing innovative strategies.• Maintained coordination with per-time staff and service providers at the community level e.g. with the Support project scheduled assessments, evaluations, monitoring, and designs. Mobilize and facilitate the engagements of stakeholders during planning and development meetings, workshops, and other fora. Facilitate and monitor the implementation of planned activities and progress achieved by the project in the Cluster. Develop and implement a sustainability plan together with key stakeholders. Strengthen government institutions and technical staff in planning and implementation of project plans.Coordination and capacity building Provide technical guidance in needs assessment and facilitate capacity building for community structures and/or partners in accordance with developed capacity-building plans/strategies. Develop and update a database of trained stakeholders/ community structures periodically.
