About Judith Canellas, Ph.D.

I am a Ph.D. trained Environmental Engineer and Fulbright scholar with 8+ years of experience in research, industry and teaching at university level. In an additional 7+ years as founder and CEO of my own small business with up to 10 employees I further gathered valuable leadership, organizational and people skills. Most recently, I've been teaching courses in Environmental and Chemical Engineering at Autonomous University of Barcelona, Spain. Before that, I conducted Fulbright (UK) funded, post-doctoral research at Columbia University (NY, USA), where I worked on up-cycling nitrogen from wastewater to single cell protein using hydrogen oxidizing bacteria. I received my Ph.D., in Chemical Engineering from Cranfield University (UK) for my work on zeolite based tertiary treatment of wastewater which was continued in the H2020 EU project SMART plant.
