I am a passionate scientist with a commitment to improving cancer treatments, and understanding and alleviating the side effects of chemotherapy would match perfectly with my main interests. My journey into cancer research began in 2015 when I volunteered at Hospital del Mar in Barcelona and witnessed the challenges that cancer patients faced daily while undergoing treatment. This experience awakened my determination to make a positive difference in this field.Currently, I am finishing a Master’s in Cancer, Molecular Biology, and Genomics, where my research focuses on changes of microtubule acetylation in senescent cells under different extracellular osmolarities and the role of p38 in senescent cells. This project has developed my skills in cell culture, molecular signalling, immunofluorescence, imaging, data analysis, and understanding cellular responses to external stressors.During my bachelor’s degree, I conducted research on the effects of phytochemicals from Corchorus olitorius on cell surface markers CD24 and CD44 in triple-negative breast cancer cell lines. This work helped me to improve techniques such as cell culture, molecular cell signalling, and analysing cellular responses.In addition to my academic background, I work as a Medical Laboratory Assistant at Barnet Hospital. This role has provided me with practical insights into the translational aspects of biomedical research and reinforced the importance of integrating laboratory findings into clinical practice.
