I created and managed two nonprofit organizations. One a theatre company for 30 years and one a summer camp for girls for 9 years. The next chapter of my life will focus on particpating in a different way.

As a theatre professional I am constantly looking for or creating opportunities for myself and others. People often come to me with their projects or I have an idea that becomes a project. Most of my time is spent in nurturing relationships with fellow artists and collaborating with other producers.

Leaving a nonprofit that you created is challenging and exciting. Since the early 1990's, Angels Theatre Company has been my artistic home base. It was an idea rather than a place. It was the way I knew how to build community. My transition out of leadership is complete with this final newsletter:"Wings are the edges of the stage, where people wait to make entrances or exit to when the show is over. Wings are also how angels, birds and ideas take flight. Angels Theatre Company has flown all over the city of Lincoln: from the St. Francis Chapel to the 7th Street Loft; from the Loft at the Mill to Barry's Outback; from Bennett Martin Library to Firespring/Nonprofit Hub and to Henry's on South; from Iron Tail Gallery to Turbine Flats; from Sheldon Museum to UNL's Studio Theater; and from the Lied's Johnny Carson Theater to multiple spaces across Nebraska. Place hasn't defined ATC - but opportunity has!Theatre is an elusive, beautiful and messy art form that exams fundamental human issues. Theatre reflects the time in which it is created and the resources available. Starting now, ATC is using its resources to begin its next great journey - with new leadership and a new look.ATC will keep flying high and creating meaningful theatre. ATC will continue to invite a diverse team of artists to create together. ATC will continue to wrap its wings around an idea and share it with you our - loyal audience.So, today I am happily exiting into the wings - not to disappear, but rather to shift gears.
