In my position as psychologist at OpenUp, I provide online individual counselling, therapy and psychological support to clients facing issues such as stress-related complaints, grief, anxiety, rumination, a perceived loss of purpose, and more. In my sessions, I make use of cognitive-behavioural therapy, solution-focussed therapy, mindfulness-based interventions and acceptance and commitment therapy.I also conduct group sessions on topics such as mindfulness, emotional regulation, interpersonal relationships and communication skills.Next to my client-facing work, I work on courses and other material regarding mental health, and organise quarterly learning & development events for my team.

During an internship of five months, I was working as educational and clinical psychologist at Associacio Podem, an assisted living facility for men with cognitive disabilities in the Valencian community of Spain. My tasks included:- Providing psycho-social support- Psychological assessment and guidance- Cognitive-behavioural therapy sessions- Conflict resolution and mediation- Psychosocial skill training - Workshops related to mental health

As part of my MSc at VUB, I completed a six month-internship at Kanankil Institute. During this time, I attended classes of a postgraduate programme on family and couple psychotherapy. Those included, but were not limited to, supervision classes in which I engaged in co-therapeutic conversation with clients. As another part of my internship, I facilitated therapy with children, teenagers and their families, clients who were residing at a rehabilitation center to treat substance dependency and a group of women who sought help because they were experiencing depression and suicidal thoughts. The topics I worked with included: substance dependence and addiction, domestic violence, depression, suicidality, intimate partner violence, sexualised violence and trauma. The positive experiences during this internship confirmed that I see my professional future within the framework of psychotherapy.

For over four years, I worked as private child care worker for various families, supporting them multiple times throughout the week. I took over tasks such as help with homework, private Dutch lessons, bathing the children and preparing food for them, picking them up from school/kindergarden, supervision throughout the afternoon, evening and night and providing general assistance and care.
