The Advisory Network, addresses concerns of women and gender equity. Eastern Europe, Central Asia, Cambodia, and Africa are among the developing regions where Mueller has provided consulting services to public-private organizations and government entities, working in conjunction with private NGO’s, the World Bank, the United Nations, Soros Foundation and the U.S. Department of State. Prior to founding the Advisory Network, Mueller was Chair, CEO and President of The Women's Center, a major regional resource for women and their families in the Washington DC area. For 28 years under her leadership, the Center became a comprehensive entity responding to more than 80,000 annual requests for service, information and referrals. The Centers interdisciplinary mix of legal, financial, psychological, professional development offered support groups, and educational workshops. Founder of ICAN, she established a national mentoring network and shared expertise on CNN, CBS, NBC, The Washington Post, The New York Times, and Voice of America. Collaborating across sectors Mueller developed The Annual Leadership Conference attracting such participants as Madeliene Albright, Ariana Huffington, Christiane Amanpour, Dorothy Height, Gwen Ifill, Eleanor Clift, Betty Friedan, Katherine Graham, Dianne Rhem, Andrea Mitchell, Cokie Roberts, Steve Case, Judy Woodruff, and David Gergen. She created educational programs taught by experts in their respective fields providing practical advice on the issues and trends affecting women. Honors and awards include the National Community Leadership Association Distinguished Leader Award, “Washingtonian of the Year”, Washingtonian Magazine, the Distinguished Alumnae Award, conferred by The University of Richmond. Virginia Woman of the Year awarded by the Virginia Commission on the Status of Women. For her international leadership, in conjunction with The Soros Foundation, The Judith Mueller Women’s Center was opened in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
