As a Senior PM, I was the first escalation point for the team of project managers and project coordinators, and my key responsibility was PM team Mentorship and Coaching. I was in charge of the larger and more complex projects and the expectation for this role was to demonstrate acumen to provide solutions that would address client goals by establishing best practices, championing progress & learning within the PMO.In summary, my responsibilities included Ensuring the smooth running of projects from commissioning to the final presentation Identifying actions/issues that may have cost implications Liaise with other departments in problem-solving/troubleshooting Develop junior members of the team Presenting proposals and reports to clients & potential clients Account Manager in charge of project delivery In addition to the above, my other role was to manage the National Museums of Kenya (NMK) digitization project. This was a multi-faceted project where I managed the digitization of the collection in the Earth Sciences department at the NMK, which is a government parastatal. AWS, Web Services, and Intel funded the project.I coordinated vendors across the globe, from South Korea, S. Africa, Spain, and the US. The role included1. Create a content management system for the department2. Digitize the Analogue records3. Improve the NMK digital infrastructure4. Develop a virtual museum for a few selected artifacts and specimens.
