I work as an ecological researcher on applied ecological and biogeochemical projects on nature restoration in dry sandy ecosystems, such as heathlands and forests

I am a researcher at the Vegetation, Forest and Landscape Ecology Group focusing on research projects related to nature conservation and management in the Netherlands, such as restoration of Natura 2000 areas, which are suffering from increased nitrogen deposition.

• Research on the effects of herbivores (both wildlife and livestock) on soil and plant nutrients, and the tree-grass balance in African savanna and temperate grassland.
• Leading role in several research projects and collaborations.
