The Judith Alexander Foundation was established in 2005. Judith Alexander was known as an art visionary, having introduced the likes of Franz Kline, Jackson Pollack, and Jim Dine to the attention of Atlanta art appreciators back in the 1950s. She moved on to be a pioneer in the elevation of self-taught artists, most notably Nellie Mae Rowe of Vinings, GA. The foundation that bears her name is devoted to supporting Georgia artists and preserving the legacy of Nellie Mae Rowe in particular.
