I am a research manager with broad experimental and scientific knowledge in the field of malaria, cell biology and immunology with more than 20 years of lab experience. Furthermore, I am an enthusiastic, reliable and dedicated people manager who finds it important to let everybody in my team perform at his/her best.In 2013 I accepted the challenge to work at TropIQ Health Sciences B.V., a startup company accelerating the elimination of tropical infectious diseases. It has been great to perform lots of assay development in the field of (liver stage) malaria and to see the company grow to a group of 18 people. My main focus is to manage our malaria liver stage related contract research. To do so, I keep close contacts with both our international customers and our team in the lab. A highlight were 2 visits to a lab in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. I was also responsible for the design and building of our labs in 3 phases, which I really enjoyed doing. Lastly, I am a member of our MT and I find it important to use this team to keep the people going forward in the best possible way.The years before, at Organon NV / Schering-Plough / MSD, I was a hands-on researcher in the field of immunology and oncology, with a main focus on monoclonal antibody generation and assay development. In 2005-2006 I have been overseas to help setting up a lab in Cambridge (USA), which was fantastic!
