I couldn't wait to hop off the school bus, drop my books at the front door, grab my kite, and head to the park with my sister. We would save our allowance to buy the best string; and we became the neighborhood’s experts when it came to flying kites. And we would fly them high, sometimes not being able to pull them in until well after dark. On extra windy days, we'd have to keep the string short. Sometimes we would pull in our kites to help others get theirs in the air. The lessons I learned in kite flying are still with me today. Success can be more easily achieved by making good investments (in processes, people, and planning, as well as dollars). Helping others achieve success is a fulfilling endeavor.
