Judith Donovan is trustee and NED of a number of national iconic organisations. Her early career combined building and selling a business, alongside helping deliver government business support and regulation. She has since taken on chair/non-executive/trustee roles in public sector and quango organisations, bringing commercial and governance skills to these. The latest is working on employment for ex-offenders.She is NED of the Continuum Group Ltd - a portfolio of UK visitor attractions.Judith is also trustee of The Science Museum Group – the world’s largest group of science museums - and of The National Army Museum, the leading authority on the army past and present, She is a member of the Audit and Risk committee at the Science Museum and Chair of the advisory board at their Science and Innovation Park; she also Chairs the National Army Museum Trading Limited; and the Employment Advisory Board at HMP Askham Grange and New Hall – Yorkshire's two women's prisons.Judith has particular experience and interest in regeneration, heritage, tourism and rural affairs. She is Council Chair at Ripon Cathedral and was a Secretary of State appointed member of a National Park Authority and actively involved with a number of regional organisations. Other roles have included the Big Lottery Fund, Network Rail, the Health and Safety Executive and Hull University.Active in the City of London, she is a Freeman of the City, and a Liveryman with the Worshipful Companies of Marketors, Tobacco Pipe Makers and Tobacco Blenders and Woolmen where she is a Trustee of the Woolmen charity. She helped to found the Company of Entrepreneurs and served on their Court for its first five years. Her business was a recognised leader in direct marketing and Judith continues to be involved in this industry. Kogan Page published her book on direct marketing and she helped found the Direct Marketing Association trade body.She has been recognised with a string of awards including Yorkshire Woman of the Year and Yorkshire Business Woman of the Year. She helped set up Business Link West Yorkshire and was formerly President of Bradford Chamber of Commerce – the first woman in this role. She was awarded the CBE for services to training and Bradford.
