The Vice President of People + Culture serves as a member of the executive team leading SPCA of Texas to establish and achieve strategic goals. Provide Human Resource leadership to the leadership team, managers and employees. Provide counseling, support and training to management regarding employee/volunteer relations issues. Evaluate, select and maintain competitive benefit packages. Research and maintain competitive compensation plans. Operates as the primary risk manager of potential workplace claims, including, charges of discrimination, lawsuits and litigation. Work with Manager of Volunteer Services to set goals and determine strategies for the recruitment, selection and training of volunteers to maintain a premier volunteer base and positive volunteer experience. Oversee and maintain budgets for Human Resources and Volunteer Services departments. Provide administrative support to the SPCA of Texas Board of Directors.

The Director of Professional Development is responsible for leading efforts that maintain and enhance ongoing learning within Tarrant County College. The Director of Professional Development defines, creates, and implements strategies, through core resources, for the design, implementation, and evaluation of programs that facilitate professional development, leadership development, succession planning, talent development and continuous learning for all employees. The Director of Professional Development will assure District compliance with all training necessary for compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.

Designs, plans, facilitates, and implements internal training programs, policies, and procedures that guarantees quality healthcare. Researches and suggests new training techniques, and suggests enhancements to existing training programs. Partners with other departments including health services, human resources, and executive leadership to develop course content, core competencies, evaluation tools, and materials for training activities. Ensures customer service and compliance standards are maintained. Lead initiatives including employee engagement efforts that center on diversity and inclusion, workplace values, customer service standards, service recovery, and leadership development for managers. Storyboard, shoot, and edit all recorded training videos for virtual delivery. Manage large-scale projects across 25 sites, including audits for training compliance, management and overhaul of LMS, and accreditation. Plan and develop instructional programs and courses. Develop divisional brochures, WebPages and informational circulars in cooperation with Public Information. Responsible for the production/coordination of staff development activities. Identify and implement strategies to increase student retention and student success. Key duties for division included: coordination of DREA and DEEP Camps, facilitation of policy and procedure for student concerns and grade disputes, overseeing of institutional response to developmental education reform through the creation and coordination of programs and non-course based remediation efforts, designing a nationally-recognized branded campaign called DEEP, the developmental education empowerment project. Led the administrative and coordinating efforts of Gateway to College, a grant-funded dual-credit drop-out recovery program for at-risk students from Garland and Mesquite Independent School Districts. Managed dual-credit crosswalks and ISD partnerships; counseled, taught, and encouraged student caseload of 30+ through organized learning communities that required solution-focused and person-centered counseling techniques.

Supervised strategic direction of programming and social services for at-risk youth populations, promoting positive development through goal-directed behavior. Implemented and managed free individual and group counseling services as well as facilitated groups on topics including Gender Identity, Survivors of Trauma, and Body Image. Secured funding for grass-roots non-profit through organizing special events, campaigns, and grant writing.
