In vivo biologist evaluating antifungal agents in murine models against Aspergillus and Candida albicans. Infected mice intraveneously (tail) or by using pulmonary infection flasks. Dosed mice orally, intraperitoneally, or subcutaneously; maintained and prepared cultures for use in Aspergillus and Candida albicans infection models; euthanized mice, removed and processed organs for colony counts (fungal or bacterial) and determined number of active organisms as indicators of drug efficacy.
