Molecular Ecology Lab

Incorporated current events in lectures to make material relatable to students of various fields. Prepared lecture materials for 2-3 labs per week and communicated with lab coordinator if material was unclear.

Plant Genetics Lab

Identified homozygous mutants of Arabidopsis thaliana, a small flowering plant, from a purchased mutant seed collection using PCR. Confirmed T-DNA insertion of Palmitoyltransferase (PAT) gene was homozygous using PCR and gel electrophoresis. Analyzed sequenced PCR products to determine how T-DNA insertion affected genomic DNA. Determined if full length PAT.
