Built and led a team of 5, set the programs five-year policy direction, managed funding rounds and related media, established budgets, operational processes and reporting, and established national and state networks.

I led the UK governments partnership with the charity organisation, Step Up To Serve, through a part time secondment for 8 months to drive delivery of an 'environment' theme for their national #iwill Campaign, which was officially launched on 31st January 2019. The #iwill4nature campaign aimed to encourage more young people (10-20) to step up and take care of their local environments and the planet, while realising the benefits to themselves, their mental health and well being, and to the health and wellbeing of their communities.

Developed evidence-based policy recommendations for the UK Government 25 Year Environment Plan for England, launched by the Prime Minister Theresa May on 11th January 2018. I specifically designed policy committments within the chapter 'Connecting people with the environment to improve health and wellbeing' , developing policy proposals around the health and nature alliance, and the Year of Green Action. This involved engaging various Whitehall departments, arms-length bodies, NGO's, VCSE sector and other stakeholders, as well as building and analysing the evidence base, to shape and develop appropriately targeted policy proposals for the Plan, and communicating these to senior staff and Ministers.

Working with partners within the UK Government, in particular the Department of Health, the NHS, Local Government and the voluntary and community sector, I:Lead PHEs engagement with 22 high profile Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) groups to support improvements in health and care outcomes through the £4m Strategic Partners programme;Represented PHE in managing assessment and coordination of the Innovation, Excellence and Strategic Development (IESD) Fund;Lead the secretariat of the Public Health System Group, comprised of senior leaders across the health system in England; Shaped the delivery of a system-wide review of investment and partnership with the VCS sector.

Provided strategic policy advice to the Fuel Poverty team under the Home Energy Directorate, with a particular focus on stakeholder engagement.Provided advice on the Fuel Poverty Strategy for England, published in March 2015. Designed the evalaution tools for the Health Booster Fund recipient schemes in consultation with Public Health England.Was lead policy consultant for legislative amendments required to share data for effective targeting of fuel poor homes in England.

Lead policy and drafting officer for the Conservation and Land Management Amendment Bill and served as an Advising Officer for the Minister for Environment at Parliamentary debates of legislation. Led the formulation and development of subsequent new regulations for Aboriginal people to carry out customary activities in national parks. Instigated and drove the development of contemporary policy on joint management.Initiated and led a multi-disciplinary, inter-divisional working group to coordinate the roll-out and implementation of legislative reform within the department.

Led project teams in the preparation of policies, management practices and interim management guidelines.Coordinated social research and public participation programs to determine community attitudes, perceptions and behaviour for the purposes of policy development, implementation and review.Liaised with DEC staff, other government agencies, non-government organisations and key stakeholders to ensure that management practices and policies are appropriate to needs.Maintained expertise in policy and planning techniques in relation to land management.

Liaised with and provided advice to internal and external stakeholders on matters relating to commercial recreation and tourism activities on DEC estate.Researched and prepared draft policy statements relating to licensing commercial operations on DEC managed lands. Executive Officer for publicly advertised calls for Expression of Interest for the competitive allocation of commercial opportunities. Assisted in administration of commercial operations licences.
