Researched and wrote news and features for the Waitrose staff magazine; reported on high-level management conferences and meetings and commissioned photographers.One of my favourite parts of this job was meeting and interviewing so many amazing people, from all levels of the Partnership: from Partners and managers on the shopfloor and in Head Office, to the Directors involved in making decisions as to how Waitrose and the John Lewis Partnership should be run. A massive highlight for me was also interviewing the small producers and farmers who supply Waitrose, often from their farms or shops. I learnt a lot about the importance of food provenance, ethical supply chains and ethical food production, values which I share.I also enjoyed interviewing (foodie and non-foodie) celebrities at various events, including Delia Smith, Michel Roux (Snr), The Hairy Bikers, Thomasina Miers, Baroness Floella Benjamin and David Bellamy.Standout events that I reported on included the Chelsea Flower Show and Waitrose Foundation receptions at the Houses of Lords & Commons, and Lords Cricket ground.

I was responsible for reporting on industry news and issues affecting the Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American pharmaceutical markets for a twice-weekly B2B magazine, as well as proof-reading colleagues' copy.

Colombia

I edited articles for the Schools of Languages, Medicine and Public Health and translated articles from Spanish in to English for both University and international academic publications. Developed and ran a series of seminars for the Faculty of Public Health, teaching scientists how to write articles in English, and I also ran workshops in Journalism for English students.
