I’m passionate about sustainability within the fashion industry. All my brands enhance the circular economy. I have over 20 years’ experience building sustainable brands, focusing on vintage fashion and furniture. From borrowing my grandmas old coats and my mums 70s shirts at the age of 10 to falling in love with vintage in the 90s and trawling through charity shops to see what I could find and repurpose. I love the history of fashion, the story behind a garment, how it created movements, cults and evokes memories. How clothing forms the identity of decades of teenage rebellion and expression. I studied fashion design at college and Fashion promotion at university before moving to London as soon as I graduated and becoming a personal shopper at Selfridges, Oxford Street. In London, in the early noughties, there was a real buzz about vintage, but demand pushed the price up and it alienated the people who had always bought vintage. From that point I knew; ✅ Vintage needs to be accessible✅ Vintage needs to be affordable✅ Vintage needs to be for students, young people and thrift shoppers who want to look different on a budget.I've been creating and running vintage markets for nearly 20 years. I was the first in the uk to set up and tour a vintage fair to over 40 cities. I was the first to create an affordable vintage furniture flea market in London and then tour it round the country. I was also the first to create and establish a vintage kilo sale (2011) and tour 150 events each year. My 'Shop Kilo' business model is based on this principal; 🌄 I pile it high💸 I sell it cheap🌍 Its circular, sustainable and practical👍 We have over 50,000 followers on Instagram & 137,000 fans on Facebook👩🏿🤝👩🏼 Our markets are visited by over 200,000 customers each year🌐 Our website is growing rapidly and is one of the top 10% of businesses on Shopify. I started a vintage movement with my vintage fairs and kilo sales, which led me to create what is now the largest kilo sale company in the UK. ♾ Shop Kilo is unique😎 It’s cool and clean📅 It runs over 120 events a year in every corner of the UK🛍 Covid forced us online and we now have a website where shoppers can pick up a kilo bargain from the comfort of their couchFeel free to contact me;Press enquiries – press@judysvintagefair.comPartnership and sponsorship enquiries – partner@judysvintagefair.com

Gathering like-minded contacts from all over the UK with a love of affordable vintage fashion and homes, the first eponymous event - Judy’s Vintage Fair - took place in 2005. Setting up shop in Leeds University Union, the music was loud, the items affordable and we have never looked back since. We have packed a lot in over the years; whether curating the 60th anniversary of The Festival of Britain or setting up sustainable marketplaces nationwide, standing still just isn’t our thing. Our operation grew significantly in 2009 with the founding of The Vintage Kilo Sale, and in 2010 The Vintage Furniture Flea joined the family. With hundreds of events now spanning the UK, you will always know you are at one of ours by our diverse traders and affordable stock. A lot may have changed since those early days... But we believe in the power of vintage now more than ever. We believe that style is eternal and that your clothes and homes should be too. By shopping from the past, we can be kind to the future and help stop the impact of fast fashion and throw away homewares on our planet. Once you and an item are ready to part ways, remodel it, re-purpose it or simply pass it on and let the saga continue. Each year, 350,0000 tonnes of clothing go to landfill in the UK and so we all have a part to play. Sixteen years on and we are still a female-run business, with a female founder at the helm. We believe that representation in business is not novelty but need, and we believe it is our differences which add value to the mix. Show less -

Well, it's a super cheap way to shop vintage, and the more you shop the more we can order and the more vintage we order the cheaper we can sell it!! We hate the fact that vintage shopping is so cool that it now comes with a hefty price tag. Vintage shopping should be for everyone, and you shouldn’t be priced out of buying that super stylish shirt just because someone has worn it before. So, let's pile it high and sell it cheap! We’re a principled bunch and hold our ethics close. Our brand commitments are just that – solid promises to work for the betterment of people and the planet, not just fluffy words that look good on paper! Vintage is having such a good time that too many people want it, which is bloody brilliant of course, but many retailers have put their prices up to cash in – you’ll never catch us inflating our prices! Sustainable fashion should ALWAYS be affordable for all, and at the Kilo it always will be. Our affordability means we’re a solid contender against fast fashion (boo!) – we’re just as cheap but without the poor quality, pollution and sketchy labour practices. We also know that trends may come and go, but kindness never goes out of fashion. We’ve got big plans to partner with some wonderful charities and organisations in the coming months. Giving back is built into our business model and if you’ve got a cause that you think we should know about, let us know at hello@shopkilo.co.uk. Show less -
