Successfully collaborating with the committee to transform and co-create the approach to increasing homeownership in the Black community. We are partnering with innovative organizations to drive transformative change. We established a streamlined impact tracking system that maintains accountability while minimizing the burden on grantees, so that we could support and give outside of traditional philanthropic models.

As part of the commission, I collaborate with fellow members to assess and offer recommendations on the salaries of designated elected officials within the city, including the mayor and council members. This framework promotes heightened citizen engagement and accountability in shaping the future compensation levels for Tacoma's elected representatives. My approach to this work is marked by curiosity, humility, and a sincere intention to establish equitable and responsible remuneration, enabling citizens reflecting all dimensions of diversity in Tacoma to serve in these roles.

As the Chair of the Research Committee and a member of the case disciplinary panel, appointed by the governor, I work with a dedicated team to enhance nursing quality in Washington State. Our focus spans education, workforce development, and discipline.We collaborate with the state's higher education system to improve nursing curriculum, ensuring aspiring nurses receive robust and relevant learning. Additionally, our efforts have resulted in program accessibility and increased completion rates.Our work also broaden pathways to nursing, with a focus on inclusivity for diverse communities. We aim not only to increase the pool of nurses, but to support and retain them effectively.Furthermore, we rigorously review disciplinary cases, prioritizing public safety and equitable resolutions. Our insights inform policies and processes that safeguard both nurses and the public.

Responsible for directly leading and overseeing HR, Employee Engagement, Facilities, and the Foundation. Developed and implemented a collaborative framework for strategic planning, including budget and FTE management. Pioneered the development of the organization's first EDI (equity, diversity, and inclusion) strategic plan, fundamentally embedding equity EDI into our organizational culture. This groundbreaking plan incentivizes EDI-related performance, aligns with our business strategic plan, and fosters a culture of accountability and widespread participation. My leadership extends to equipping leadership teams with the necessary tools and knowledge to lead effectively, empathetically, and adaptively. I excel in structured problem-solving, providing consultative and operational support across all areas of the enterprise. In my role, both independently and as a co-principal in collaborative efforts, I have forged partnerships with organizations spanning the public and private sectors. My diverse client base has provided me with valuable insights and experience in analyzing and addressing complex, interconnected systems. My comprehensive suite of services includes strategic planning, organizational management, executive leadership development, and coaching. Additionally, I specialize in all aspects of human resources, from recruitment and placement at all levels, including executives, to providing consultation on research methodology, design, and data analysis. I excel in preparing reports, conducting organizational assessments, including climate surveys and mixed method approaches from statistical analysis to focus groups, and delivering keynote speeches, training, and facilitation. My expertise extends to conflict management and the implementation of best practices, ensuring holistic support for my clients.

My journey from a tenured professor to the Vice President for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) has been marked by a relentless commitment to advancing equitable outcomes in education. As a faculty member, I played a pivotal role in creating and implementing innovative learning pathways that significantly improved the completion rates and grades of historically marginalized students, setting them on a trajectory for success that outpaced their peers. As the Vice President for EDI, I became a key member of the executive team, reporting directly to the CEO/President. In this capacity, I assumed leadership and oversight of critical areas, including the Office for EDI, Assessment, Institutional Research, Grants, and Professional Development. My strategic planning expertise came to the forefront as I seamlessly integrated EDI principles and outcomes into the overarching organizational strategy, aligning it with our mission of promoting diversity and inclusion. My dedication and innovative approaches in both roles garnered recognition through grants and commendations at regional and national levels

As I returned to Clover Park Technical College, I assumed a dual leadership role focused on faculty support and campus-wide equity and inclusivity promotion. Serving as the Dean of Academic Instruction, I oversaw a range of faculty-related functions, including recruitment, hiring, professional development, contract renewals, curriculum support, and course scheduling. Additionally, I managed key campus departments, such as the Library, eLearning, the Center for Academic Success, and Learning Communities. During my interim role as CDEO, I laid the foundation for this vital leadership position by developing programs and assessment strategies that prioritized student and employee well-being and success. I co-led strategic planning and Guided Pathways efforts, integrating DEI principles. Highlighted achievements during my tenure include transforming the course placement process to enhance student engagement and collaboration with on-campus resources, reducing faculty turnover by implementing efficient onboarding, professional development, and targeted support for faculty of color, and fostering collective emotional intelligence and awareness through faculty in-service training. As an adjunct faculty member, I contributed significantly to the preparation of the Accreditation Report, collaborating closely with the VP of Instruction to develop metrics and provide structure for the report. Additionally, I secured the College Spark Grant in 2019 to redesign math and English pathways, further advancing our commitment to student success and innovation.

Actively contributed to the college's strategic planning efforts by collaborating closely with a dedicated team to develop and evaluate the viability and significance of collected data. I have successfully implemented processes aimed at enhancing the rigor of CPTC"s data-driven plans, ensuring that they are well-founded and effective. Additionally, I put in place procedures to guarantee that projects adhere to established timelines, promoting efficiency and accountability within our planning initiatives.

Successful completion of the 2018 NIXLA leadership development and training program consisting of mandatory participation in 15 instructional hours; optional participation in 24 instructional hours; mandatory participation in 15 hours of dedicated team work & collaboration whilst creating an institutional translation project; and finally, taking advantage of over 30 hours of available coaching & professional mentorship offered by way of the NIXLA Faculty – totaling up to approximately 84 hours in all. As the Executive Director of Research and Evaluations at the Center for Military Resilient Families, I led program evaluations, data collection, and analysis for various company-wide projects. I was also responsible for strategic planning oversight and reporting, as well as reporting deliverables to the federal government. My role included overseeing the hiring, talent development, and performance reviews of a 20-member team, in addition to managing our departmental budget. Notable achievements included streamlining the program evaluation and data reporting process, resulting in a nearly 70% increase in adherence to deadlines and a perfect on-time delivery record. I also improved survey return rates by 60% through the implementation of technology solutions, enhancing the efficiency of our processes and refining priorities.

As the research manager I was responsible for all aspects of research, including research strategy; project management; data collection; reporting; team, budget, and stakeholder management; ethical compliance; continuous learning; and strategic insight.

Lead analyst supporting research and evaluation centered on recruitment and retention of Under Represented student populations in STEM fields in higher education. Contribute to the body of knowledge of the project by conducting specific research, including reviewing substantive literature on knowledge, scanning sources for new development fields, and conducting in-depth research on specific substantive areas. I was responsible for research design, data analysis, program evaluation and report/grant writing. Monitor and analyze data related to students and institutional practices.
