I'm currently pursuing my doctorate of clinical psychology (PsyD). I graduated from The Pennsylvania State University in May of 2023 with a B.S. in Psychology – Life Sciences, and a minor in Rehabilitation and Human Services. I first became involved in research while working as an undergraduate research assistant in the Adams Lab under the direction of Dr. Reginald Adams. Specifically, I was in the Laugh Lab studying threat-related enjoyment/humor and the connection between using comedy to relieve negative emotional states. During this semester of experience, I developed and coded a codebook for future RAs of the Laugh Lab and analyzed over 25 hours of stand-up comedy specials. The majority of my undergraduate research experience was under the direction of Dr. Pamela Cole in the Cole Lab studying childhood emotional regulation, fear-regulation, and language. I volunteered as a research assistant in the Development of Toddlers Study (DOTS) under Vanessa Kim and have dedicated over 325 hours to the project. During this experience, I coded and transcribed longitudinal data, performed reliability coding, worked with data-processing software such as Datavyu, read and coded peer reviewed literature, assisted in an extensive literature review, and helped trained new research assistants. My other undergraduate involvement included being an undergraduate teaching assistant. This was for a 400 level adolescent psychology course for Dr. Jeff Love with a class size of 118 students. During this time, I led exam reviews, explained class concepts, answered student questions, compiled student's worksheets into excel files, and assisted with any other needs for the course. My leadership and community involvement is demonstrated through Psi Chi - the International Honor Society for Psychology at the Penn State chapter. I was a distinguished member and a part of their conference committee which helps organize, plan, and execute their annual research poster conference. This required coordination with advisers, presenters, and the printing companies, and event planning/management.My clinical experience includes my current role as a clinical research assistant at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and my time in high-school when I worked as a summer camp counselor.
