I paint with oils and acrylics on the textured surfaces of stretched canvases and wooden crates that I create by using the side of my hand and my fingers to carve sweeping ridges and stark edges into the top layer.I work to capture a childlike freshness and vitality while infusing my work with life experiences. My paintings are a combination of memories from places I've visited and loved and abstractions that emerge from the lines and colors I sweep across the surfaces.I paint in an airy space at the top of the stairs in my home filled with sketches, photos, and assorted sizes of tables laden with brushes, tubes of paint, and dried palettes too pretty to throw away.
