Judy's practice is devoted to elder law, estate planning and special needs planning. She works with elders and their families in all areas of long-term care planning and advocacy, asset preservation, MassHealth applications and appeals, guardianships and conservatorships, special needs planning and advocacy, estate planning, probate administration, and public benefits advocacy. Part of her practice is devoted to litigation of issues affecting elders, such as appealing wrongful attempts to discharge nursing home residents, contested guardianships and fiduciary litigation. She has served on the Board of Directors of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA) since 2019, and is currently serving as President of NAELA. Judy also served on the Board of the Massachusetts Chapter (MassNAELA) for several years, and as Chapter President in 2014. Judy is very involved in public policy and advocacy with NAELA and MassNAELA. She was also President of the Massachusetts Guardianship Association in 2010 and 2011. She served for years on the Massachusetts Bar Association’s Elder Law Advisory Task Force. She is one of approximately 30 attorneys in Massachusetts to earn the CELA (certified elder law attorney) designation by the National Elder Law Foundation (www.nelf.org).
