After retiring from teaching, I started an organization called Global Spirit to create events, living room concerts, and small group travel experiences. Global Spirit's aim was to build community, support the arts, and connect people to one another as well as other cultures.

The Whole Life Center at Shadow Rock nurtures wholeness in people, wherever they are in life, by offering opportunities for community, healing and inspiration.Offerings includes small groups, workshops, retreats, classes, concerts, and meaningful dialogue.

Served on the board of one of the largest Unity spiritual centers in the US with an average Sunday attendance of 1800. Helped transition the center from leadership under a longtime minister who had grown the organization from just 50 people to new leadership by facilitating input from members using the World Cafe model.

• Promoted reading • Taught research skills to students and faculty • Created and maintained the school library website including links to online curriculum-related sites. • Created the Peoria District Library Handbook for Teachers focused on using research, technology and higher level thinking skills. • Founded and ran a school-wide program to foster tolerance and respect for diversity • Produced and co-wrote a book of reflections by teachers in honor of the school’s 25th Anniversary.• Presented at a national principals conference on "Growing a Learning Community With Your Library".• Created a “Lunchbox Showcase” program to share students' talents and celebrate the arts. • Developed district proposals for acquiring and configuring computer networks to meet curriculum needs.• Trained teachers and students in the use of applications and online resources.• Chaired District-side Library Technology Committee to create the first computer labs in every high school library.

I was a co-founder of Theater Works, now the West Valley's pre-eminent community theater, served on its board for many years, and co-organized national and international tours for the youth performing group, Kids Alive.

As an English teacher at Greenway High School, I taught 9th, 10th and 11 grade English classes, and led the 11th grade teaching team in working together to develop lesson plans and rubrics for consistent grading.
