Better with Age is a group with a specific goal in mind - to market the services of 50+ professionals to potential clients and employers. It is a networking group, but goes beyond just chatting to action. I am adding this to my current employment status as it is something I am currently doing and in order to better classify the veryb kind recommendation I got in connection with this group.

I have taught at Temple Israel for 11 years, 9 years of which have been as a b'nai mitzvah teacher. I am one of a team of three teachers; my primary duty is to train the children on their Torah portion.

For 11 years I taught fifth grade Hebrew in the Mt. Zion program under the auspices of the Talmud Torah of St. Paul. For the last five years my class used the new Mitkadem program. Mt. Zion was one of the schools that helped pioneer this program. (I actually appear on the promotional DVD). Both under the Mitkadem program and the previous, more traditional program, I used games and music to enliven my classes. Children also had regular in-class prayer sessions to solidify their mastery of the prayers.

My core duties as Quality Assurance Manager included editing all open ended responses, testing Wincati and online programs for errors, tracking production, and tracking show rates for focus groups. I contributed to training manuals and have created PowerPoint presentations for training interviewers and supervisory staff on open ends. Periodically, I have also validated completed surveys, made certain focus group recruits were confirmed in a timely manner, edited spreads for focus groups, back-coded other/specify responses, and monitored callers to ensure high quality interviewing. In addition to my function as Quality Assurance Manager, I was also in charge of creating coding patterns and coding jobs of all sizes. In every function I filled, I attained a reputation for being very precise and for demanding high quality work both of myself and others.

Taught 4th grade Hebrew in the community afternoon school, taught Hebrew at DMJA, Worked on curriculum for BJE, In charge of educational programs for 5th - 8th grade Shabbatonim (retreats), worked on community wide holiday programs, provided music curriculum, including original music curriculum, for DMJA and upper grades of BJE, wrote and helped direct plays with original songs for BJE and DMJA.

These are schools I taught at over 20 years ago. I taught at some of them simultaneously, either on alternate days or at a day school and supplementary school at the same time. I taught all ages from preschool to adult education. These schools also include community schools, and schools affiliated with the orthdox, conservative and reform movements.
