After many years as an entrepreneur in the retail industry, I established and built a specialized boutique practice providing bookkeeping and bill paying services for busy, high net worth individuals including seniors and divorcees and those requiring extra attention to detail. During the 26+ years I have owned and operated my business, I have kept pace with tax code changes, especially the move from paper based bookkeeping to electronic money management. Land 'n Sea, Inc., a woman's specialty clothing store in Darien CT, was founded in 1955 by my mother Sylvia Heft. At that time, Sylvia had no prior retail experience. I joined the family owned business in 1969 and ran it until 1995. Sylvia was a pioneer in women owned businesses at the time. She taught me how to be a professional in every sense of the word and to never forget the customer always comes first. Customer service is the key and I have implemented this practice over the years in all of my businesses.
