I head up Nashville’s leading social services agency, the social services arm of the Catholic Diocese of Nashville. Serving all people, we have hundreds of staff and volunteers who provide love, hope, and healing—our brand promise. Our mission is to help move our neighbors to self reliance. Catholic Charities’ serves thousands of individuals and families across the 38 Middle Tennessee counties that comprise the Diocese. We also partner with other agencies, nonprofits, faith communities, and government entities to provide resources for those in need. Catholic Charities, Diocese of Nashville is one of nearly 180 similar agencies across the country whose programs are tailored to their communities. We got our start in 1962 assisting Cuban children who were evacuated from their home country amidst the strife of the Communist takeover of Cuba. We have helped displaced people ever since, whether displaced from a civil war in their home country, a disaster, or upheaval in their own family. Our commitment to them is to help get them out of harm's way and work through the barriers that keep them from a stable and sustainable life of independence, in which they don't need us anymore.Just as Christ did, we recognize the dignity of all people and serve our neighbors.

I oversaw bereavement support services, community relations and outreach, experiential learning for students training for clinical roles, fundraising activities and events, marketing and communications, and branding for Middle Tennessee's only nonprofit hospice organization. Prior to joining the staff, I spent 18 months as a Board member of this Nashville health care icon. Alive is a place of unexpected and true joy.

Served as part-time social worker liaison with clients to connect them with health care practitioners and resources to manage home care or placement in health care facilities. Provided counsel and support to families. Managed court-ordered conservatorships for older adults and disabled adults.

I managed a 25-person creative team providing agency-quality branding, graphic design, photography, and copywriting for internal departments. When I started at Vanderbilt, my group was a 13-person team not so much tuned into customer service. With my oversight, they became a responsive and robust team providing top-level marketing and communication services, and saving Vanderbilt tons of money it would otherwise have spent on out-of-house agencies.

I led the Ingram Book Company advertising sales team, which was ultimately combined with the creative group into one cohesive unit under my direction. I exceeded ad sales goals consistently, and I improved efficiency and productivity through new systems and workflow.

I started as production editor, quickly learned the ropes under the tutelage of a variety of consulting creative professionals, including industry giants Virginia Team, John Guider, and Mike Rutherford. I was quickly promoted to director, and managed all aspects of the publications program.
