Took over as the Advertising Manager for Science News In April 2008 - a newly-created position as they started to develop the business side of this 86-year old publication. Sell advertising in territories of DC Metro, West, and Midwest for print and digital products. Manage three outside sales representatives plus one internal staff. Coordinate all marketing for sales areas, including writing copy for e-mail blasts. Worked closely with internal marketing department to initiate marketing activities and develop all collateral. Supervised the Exhibit Sales and List Sales functions, and staff in those areas. Set and monitored yearly budget for all expenditures.
