NRDC’s China Sustainable Cities Project (CSC) has been advising and advocating for sustainable urbanization in China for more than 10 years. CSC shares international experiences in sustainable urban development, provides capacity building for local policymakers, and advocates for smart growth solutions.- Managed a team of 5 staff and interns to advance the China Walkability Project - Led fundamental methodology improvements for the excel-based Chinese city walkability indicator system model.- Coordinated the creation of a five-year strategic plan for the China Sustainable Cities Project.- Researched urban energy use, demand-side management, green buildings, building energy benchmarking, low-carbon transportation especially walking and biking, compost and biogas, and the impact of Chinese urban development on carbon emissions, public health, and urban waste management. - Provided suggestions.for sustainable urban development policy solutions and best practices.- Wrote the Introduction chapter, proofread the Chinese-to-English translation, and finalized the English version of a 50+ page report on the climate impacts of Chinese urbanization.

Center for American Progress (CAP) is a progressive think tank and advocacy organization that conducts highly influential policy research in many fields including energy and environment.- Researched renewable and energy efficiency policy, offshore oil and gas drilling legislation, energy production revenue sharing, extreme weather, and climate change impacts on fisheries and aquaculture.- Analyzed environmental impacts from copper mining to estimate potential environmental impact of the proposed Pebble Mine.- Published two blog posts on Center for American Progress’s online media outlet, Climate Progress.

- Compiled updates and edited project summaries for combined heat and power plants in California.

- Researched soil ecology and soil carbon sequestration.- Measured soil carbon, soil moisture content, and soil texture.

San Diego Coastkeeper is a grassroots NGO that aims to protect the region’s bays, beaches, watersheds and ocean for the people and wildlife that depend on them. It promotes stewardship of clean water and a healthy coastal ecosystem using community outreach, education, and advocacy.- Facilitated events for underrepresented communities to voice public health concerns from polluted waterways.- Organized for 50+ kids to receive water quality testing kits to participate in the UN World Water Monitoring Day.

- Researched inter-tidal marine ecology.- Collected data on invertebrate diversity in the southern California coastline.- Digitized maps to capture changes in marine algae distribution along the southern California coastline using GrassGIS.
