CurrentI began my law practice in 1988 with the Boston firm of Morrison, Mahoney & Miller, I became a partner in 1995. In 1998, I founded Pierce, Davis & Perritano, LLP along with my partners, Joel Pierce and John Davis. As a litigation defense attorney, I have acquired extensive experience in the defense and trial of complex personal injury cases. I have handled a wide variety of multi-party cases, from pre-suit investigation through trial involving a broad range of claims, including product liability, toxic torts, automobile, eminent domain, and construction-related claims. I am counsel to several asbestos clients in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut, in addition to serving as National Coordinating Counsel for an equipment manufacturer. In connection with this work, I routinely assists in trial preparation for problematic jurisdictions nationwide. My efforts include the development of defense experts, the marshaling and coordination of internal, historical and archival documents, and the preparation of detailed and case-specific trial cross-examination outlines for key Plaintiffs’ experts. I am well-versed in the steps required to mount a successful defense, including the applicable legal and factual arguments to be developed for a wide variety of manufacturers and distributors. I have acted as lead counsel in several multi-party asbestos trials in Massachusetts, and I am familiar with the approaches, positions, and arguments put forth by opposing counsel. I have conducted numerous Plaintiffs’ expert depositions and have used the testimony developed through those sessions to conduct in-depth and effective cross-examinations of those experts at trial.I am admitted to practice in all Massachusetts Courts, the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts and the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.
