It is challenging to summarize 30 years of my personal and business life into a single title. But "Entrepreneurial Advisor" probably captures the essence of my journey in the best possible way. I love building brands and businesses. I have done this in the past. And today, I use my experience to help individuals and companies do precisely that. Advisor sounds like I am the guy sitting on the sideline who just knows things better. But this is not how I understand my job. I am a partner in crime, your closest companion, and we develop ideas together. But nobody cares about an idea if it does not turn into reality. And this is where the fun begins: making things happen. I started working in 1993. Bill Clinton was the new US president, "Jurassic Park" came out, and everybody listened to Pearl Jam – but I listened to Run-D.M.C. I helped build brands like Stussy and Eastpak in Germany in the late 90ies.In the early 2000s, I worked for Jung von Matt, launching the new MINI globally.I rebuilt the Dickies brand in Europe for a few years and worked with the most exciting brands and people (I loved working with the Palace, Supreme, Alife guys) in the industry. At the same time, I was always intrigued by new technologies. In 2010, I started my own company. We were heading towards a mobile-first world, so I started "Swipe," and we built apps for brands. In 2015, we joined SinnerSchrader – one of the leading digital agencies in Germany. As part of the board of SinnerSchrader, we decided to join Accenture in 2017, and I was Managing Director there until early 2021.But I knew something else was out there for me, so I decided to return to zero and start something new. This was scary and exciting at the same time: me, my experience, my network. Nothing more, nothing less. For the past few years, I have worked with a few great minds and executed some really good ideas. And that makes me happy.Don't talk. Do.

The paths to success are often so surprising, so peculiar, and so inspiring that it would be a shame not to talk about them. That's precisely why this podcast is now available. -

Over time, I helped build the content capabilities, was responsible for specific new business initiatives, and took care of the SinnerSchrader marketing. An essential pillar of marketing is the Next conference that I helped to develop over the years into one of the most important digital events in Germany. At the end of 2016, we started to discuss joining forces with Accenture, and in March 2017, the acquisition of SinnerSchrader by Accenture was announced. In 2020, we finished the most successful year in the history of SinnerSchrader, and I handed my duties over to a new team of managing directors.SinnerSchrader is one of Europe's leading digital agencies focusing on designing and developing digital products and services. Co-Owner And Managing DirectorSinnerschrader Swipe Feb 2010 - Jun 2015Berlin, Berlin, DeThe Swipe story started the day that Steve Jobs presented the iPad in January 2010. Thanks to my iPhone accessory brand, I knew that the smartphone market was growing fast, and the iPad would accelerate mobile devices' growth. So I decided, together with a good friend of mine, to start a mobile agency, developing apps for brands. And this is what Swipe is still doing today – with more than 60 people in Hamburg, Berlin, and Zurich. We sold Swipe to SinnerSchrader in 2015, and I left the management of Swipe and took over a role in the management board at SinnerSchrader. -
OwnerAlkr® Jul 2009 - Dec 2012After I failed miserably with my smoothie brand, I wanted to give it another try to launch my own product. In 2007, Apple launched the iPhone, and as I learned a lot about manufacturing while working for Dickies, I decided to start alkr as a phone and laptop accessory brand. alkr® was founded during the midst of the worldwide recession in 2009. Despite all the negative trends economically, people still seemed to appreciate new and exciting technology gadgets that enhanced their everyday lives and work. But what I thought was missing were laptop sleeves and iPhone cases that lived up to the same intelligent design standard as the gadget itself. So I decided to defy the economic state and start up a small independent company to develop them myself. -
Brand Director EuropeDickies®, A Vf Company May 2007 - Aug 2011Fort Worth, Texas, UsDickies is one of the biggest workwear brands, and it became an essential part of the global streetwear business in the late 90s. In the mid-2000s, the reputation suffered from decisions that damaged the brand, and I was asked to rebuild this image – and sales.I was responsible for the brand in Europe – from production to marketing. I learned a lot about manufacturing and building a brand across markets in Europe. I was also responsible for global collaborations. I worked with the best brands heads in the streetwear industry: Jeff Staple, Michael Kopelman, Andrew Bunney, Benny Gold, Joshy D, Mike Giant, and brands like Stussy, Hideout, Alife, Palace, Rebel8. These days, we also started to set up e-commerce for Dickies in Europe and helped make the distribution "more digital." -
Freelancer Account DirectorJürgen Alker Jul 2002 - Apr 2008After a good time at Jung von Matt, I decided to go freelance. In these years, I worked for some of the best agencies in Germany. From DDB to KolleRebbe, AirmaqRappStolle to Philipp and Keuntje. As a side project, I started my smoothie brand, which failed, but taught me many valuable things in the years to come. -
Account DirectorJung Von Matt Jul 1999 - Jul 2002Hamburg, Hamburg, DeI was always dreaming about working in an excellent agency – and I was happy I got hired by Jung von Matt. Initially, I was responsible for the international BMW sales literature, and later, I was responsible for the global campaign supporting the launch of the "new MINI" in 2001. I had the opportunity to work with the industry's best creative minds on one of the most exciting brand launches in years. I think it is fair to say that back then, we laid the foundation for the MINI brand's success that it still has today. -
Marketing DirectorEastpak May 1996 - Jun 1999Antwerp, Antwerp, BeIn the mid-90s, Eastpak began to become "a thing" in Europe. When I started working for Eastpak, there was no actual marketing department. Still, Eastpak started to take off as "the right people" (aka influencer, the term was not known back then) wore Eastpaks (especially in the skateboarding community). Eastpak went through the roof within two years, from 3 Mio Euro turnover to 30 Mio Euro. We were one of the coolest brands back then, and we were part of the youth culture. No matter if in music, skateboarding, BMX, Hip Hop, or streetwear in general. In 1999, the brand was sold, and suddenly we were part of a corporate organization. That was the time for me to move on.
