IT owner and lead architect of all cloud-native Automotive solutions in Swiss Re. Actively contributing to the platform foundation with technical advice and implementation. Fostering standards and guidelines and coaching team members. I initiated the organizational setup towards truly autonomous and fully empowered teams, driving the platform's modernization in orchestration, streaming, resiliency, and auto-scaling to reduce costs.

Owner of the Internet of Things organizational unit @Swiss Re. In this role, I am leading a team of up 10 very talented cloud architects and developers with the focus on evolving the Telematics platform further, enabling ML type of workloads into production, moving from Service Fabric to Kubernetes, and adding smart claims handling capabilities. The rollout of the Telematics platform in China and the collaboration with BlaBlaCar are major achieved milestones. In 2020 we started to enable specific components on the Microsoft Connected Vehicle Platform (MCVP) and working on aspects of software-defined vehicles.

Initially managing and contributing to development initiatives and projects of varying sizes and complexities and consulting with the various IT stakeholders, e.g., solution integration, testing, deployment, maintenance, and operations as defined in Swiss Re's IT Operating Model. Defined a new RESTful-based integration architecture and introduced .NET and JavaScript / Angular as new approved standard technologies. Early 2014, I joined Swiss Re's senior management team to stop on-premises landscape optimization and move focus to the public cloud. Together with the Azure CAT team we ported a part of a complex system in the NatCat area to Azure and were benefitting from the elasticity and significantly reduced costs. Out of this initiative, Swiss Re has adopted Azure as the primary public cloud. In 2015 I was part of a due diligence that led to the acquisition of the German provider Akquinet Telematics which we rebranded to MovingDots GmbH. This allowed Swiss Re to enter the car telematics sector faster and establish a startup culture within a large corporate. I was mainly managing architecture and engineering aspects and help to form SCRUM teams with both Swiss Re and MovingDots employees. Since then, I am leading the telematics platform team responsible for the Swiss Re IoT platform architecture and development. I gained further deep insights into Azure IoT, Service Fabric, containerization, high throughput messaging, serverless, and micro-service architecture and design. Also coordinating the delivery of software from other teams to the platform and make sure they follow technical and quality standards.

AIDA (Application and Instrument Data Alignment) is the master repository for managing instrument metadata required by blood analysis devices worldwide. The initial part of the work was to fully design the serum work area information model before I did a large part of the RESTful architecture and implementation leveraging full .NET stack (WCF (REST), IIS, SQL Server).

Contributed to various globally rolled out large-scale application backends (JEE, SOAP) and frontends (.NET/Composite Application Block) projects within Swiss Re. Helped Swiss Re to move EJB/IIOP based services to SOAP. Implemented a complex dynamic SOAP proxy factory, which enables any COM aware clients such as MS Office to consume SOAP based web services without the need to deploy client stubs

Worked on treasury front trading systems with Java/EJB, MQ-Series, WebLogic, Tibco. Leading a team of developers.

Design and implementation of the Swiss Exchange trading front and backend systems, first on Unix (Solaris, OSF/1) and then on Windows. Learned how to write very performant code and about IP multicast protocols. This was fully native C++ backend with a C++, X11/Xt/Motif, Win32/MFC on the frontend.
