Juewon Khwarg, MD, MBA is a consultant physician specializing in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation with Integrated Rehab Consultants. His professional interests are centered around building systems of care that optimize patient's rehabilitation and functional recovery after medical events. His current focus has been the sub-acute setting, especially as US health care transitions towards value based care. He feels physiatrists can be an invaluable resource in this space, using their specialized medical knowledge to reduce complications, to address any issues complicating rehabilitative progress, and to assure patients are receiving appropriate levels of care to have the best potential functional outcomes.Clinical specialties include sports, spine and regenerative medicine (fellowship trained), and the management of pain, spasticity, contracture, orthopedic aftercare, and neurologic rehabilitation. He is a strong believer in a team based approach incorporating skilled therapists, nursing, social services, other medical specialties, patients and their caregivers.His training includes undergraduate at Princeton University, medical school at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, intern year in preliminary medicine at Akron City Hospital Summa Health Systems and residency in physical medicine & rehabilitation at VA-UCLA health system.
