I've been working most of my career with mobile systems, and have a general interest in embedded technologies.In 2011 I created a remote air conditioner control system for my house (http://youtu.be/bY9Eh3feKSU) running on BeagleBoard, which was in almost daily use for long time. In 2013 with a friend of mine (Matti Turska) we decided to see how to integrate those features to a kind of IoT device that could also serve as a home automation platform. We designed and manufactured an embedded system based on Freescale i.mx233 SoC, and it has successfully replaced the old system and we have been extending it's features ever since. Size of a matchbox, and capable to operate also on a battery, it's great small IoT device running Linux and has already been adapted for several different use cases we had in mind
