My debut novel BEASTS OF A LITTLE LAND was a finalist for the 2022 Dayton Literary Peace Prize. Published in 13 countries, it is being developed into a TV series for which I am also serving as executive producer. My second novel MEMENTO VITAE is forthcoming from Ecco/HarperCollins in Fall Winter 2024.As an author and environmental advocate, I've given lectures at Seoul National University, Yonsei University, Arizona State University, Seoul International Book Fair, the University of Saõ Paulo (forthcoming), La Sierra University, and many others. I am donating a portion of the worldwide proceeds of BEASTS OF A LITTLE LAND to the Phoenix Fund, a Siberian tiger and Amur leopard conservation nonprofit based in Vladivostok, Russia. I also serve as a goodwill ambassador for the Korean Leopard Conservation Fund.

My writing has been published or is forthcoming in Granta, Guernica, Slice, Catapult, Zyzzyva, Times Literary Supplement, The Independent, Joyland, Sierra Magazine, Portland Monthly, The Massachusetts Review, Shenandoah, and elsewhere. My translation has been published in Granta. I am represented by Brandt & Hochman Literary Agency in NYC and United Talent Agency in LA (film).

A longtime vegan and health enthusiast, I co-founded Peaceful Dumpling, a sustainable online magazine focusing on food, recipes, fitness, wellness, sustainability, natural beauty, and eco-friendly style. I manage and edit a team of over 200 contributors and staff editors. I have been a speaker on wellness and sustainable entrepreneurship at Athleta, Princeton University, and Saks Fifth Avenue.
