I am a global health researcher based out of Pune, India. For the past 4 years, I have had the opportunity to work on a variety of global and public health challenges including menstrual health and hygiene, reproductive health and family planning, maternal, neonatal and child health, malnutrition and anemia. I have also experienced working in different setups - as a freelancer, a non-profit organisation and most recently as a consultant in user-centred social impact enterprise. Each of these experiences have proven to be very valuable and have imparted important skill sets that I carry with me in my effort to make a difference in the field of global health. Solving complex public health issues through innovation, robust research and a user centred approach is something I am passionate about. In my previous projects, I have worked on creating qualitative research tools, conducted field research in rural, tribal, semi-urban and urban settings with different demand and supply side stakeholders, analysed rich qualitative data and produced reports, presentations, roadmaps and come up with research backed actionable solutions to manage these public health crises. I also have experience with proposal and grant writing.I did my masters in health sciences research from the University of Bristol. While at Bristol, I was trained in research methodology, experimental design, statistical analysis and laboratory techniques. I was also introduced to qualitative research and had the opportunity to learn from some of the best guides in the field. I was part of a team working on using experience based co-design to design a diagnosis and treatment pathway for patients of cleft lip and/or palate. I found the intersection of medicine and social sciences fascinating and it triggered my enthusiasm to identify and solve problems facing global health today.I am open to learn about and discuss opportunities in this field.   Worked on a project to study uptake and compliance patterns of contraceptives among women in rural Uttar Pradesh. Created qualitative research tools including in-depth interview templates and focus group discussion guidelines along with gamified approaches to get a thorough understanding of a woman's reproductive health journey, the choices she makes and the key influencial factors behind the same.Worked in rural, tribal and semi-urban locations in Gujarat and Rajasthan to get an in-depth understanding about the current status of malnutrition and anemia. The focus was on understanding nutrition specific and nutrition sensitive causes of malnutrition prevalent in these regions. In-depth qualitative research was conducted with demand and supply side stakeholders to identify problems at every stage including frontline workers, medical officers, block officers, and local women and families. Nutrition rehabilitation centres in these regions were visited and studied to identify gaps in health service delivery. Solutions to reduce malnourishment specifically among children from 0-6 years of age by strengthening health services delivery and encouraging the use of locally available resources and traditional practices were designed.Worked on designing roadmaps to identify bottlenecks and obstacles in the implementation of state and national level programs to reduce anemia prevalence and came up with actionable recommendations.Managed program logistics and liaisoning with stakeholders including government officials, medical professionals, corporate clients.Worked on report writing, presentations, proposals and grants.
